Sylvia Elaine Perry    ‘Miss Perry’

Miss Perry started the School in 1967 after training for many years with Miss Audrey Anne Ward, and then becoming her student teacher from the age of 15yrs.

She began dancing at the age of 2½ yrs at the Crown School of Dance with Miss Audrey Malin and has always been passionate about it.

She has been dedicated to Sylvaine and all pupils past and present whatever their ability and attainments. Miss Perry is a member of both the British Ballet Organization (Life member/over 50 yrs) and the International Dance Teachers Association.  She hopes that, over the many years of teaching, she has passed on her enthusiasm for dance to the many hundreds of pupils who have passed through the school, and created a friendly and happy environment for them all. She is proud to have been the instigator of many lifelong friendships, and widening of pupils social circles. Miss Perry continues to enjoy teaching, producing shows and managing the school with traditional values.


Estelle Hall    ‘Miss Estelle’

Estelle is originally from Newcastle Upon Tyne where she started dancing at the age of 4, training at The Elaine Milbourne Theatre Dance School. Estelle studied IDTA Ballet, Tap, Theatrecraft, Modern Jazz and Freestyle. She had the opportunity to perform regularly, taking part in community performances, competitions, local pantomime and shows at The Sunderland Empire, City Hall and Disneyland Paris. She began her teaching career as a teaching assistant with junior classes, quickly finding a passion for teaching and beginning her teaching qualifications. Estelle moved to Sheffield to complete her degree in English Literature in 1999 and began teaching at Sylvaine School of Dance. Since joining Sylvaine Estelle has completed her associate qualification in Ballet with the IDTA. She has also had the opportunity to choreograph for successful community projects, and perform with local groups. Most recently she danced in the premiere of Dance Evolution as part of Chance To Dance 2013.  Estelle teaches examination classes in Ballet, Modern Jazz and Theatrecraft, adult Ballet and Jazz and general classes at Sylvaine School of Dance. She enjoys choreographing for shows and performances and is currently studying for further qualifications in Theatrecraft.


Sally Carnall   ‘Miss Sally’

Sally started dancing at the age of three at the Ann Ward School Of Dance on Woodseats in Sheffield. She studied BBO ballet, tap and modern and from an early age achieved exam honours in all disciplines. She joined the Sylvaine School Of Dance in September 1988 and has progress through the school to where she is today. From the age of 14, Sally started to assist with the tots classes and had a very easy manner with the younger children. She continued to study hard in IDTA modern and ballet, eventually passing Intermediate Ballet, but it was her flair for BBO tap that was becoming more apparent. She quickly progressed to Advanced 2 and in 1996 she achieved her Full Associate Tap teaching qualification with the British Ballet Organization and it continues to be her passion today.  She has also successfully gained her Pre Associate (Part 1) teaching qualification in ballet and is currently working on the Pre Associate (Part 2) syllabus which she hopes to complete this summer. She enjoys the challenges of choreographing for show work along with the discipline of examinations. Sally currently teaches the tots, younger junior general classes, advanced ladies tap class as well as all the tap examination classes on a Tuesday.


 ‘Miss Andrea’

CYQ L2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing: Exercise & Physical Activity for Childre and Exercise to Music.
Certified Zumba Instructor.

Being Miss Perry’s daughter, Andrea has been coming to Sylvaine since before she could walk .

She was helping with the Tots when she was 9 yrs old. She was the first student in Sheffield to take the new Intermediate BBO Tap Exam and she still continues to take BBO tap exams. She is fully familiar with the BBO tap syllabus and combines her skills in dance and fitness to create fun-dance based workouts and routines for adults and children.
